Jose Fernando Syquia, MD, FPOA (Head, Arthritis Center)

Dr. Jose Fernando Syquia is the current head of the Arthritis Center and is also the Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at De Los Santos Medical Center. He has performed hundreds of joint replacement and revision surgeries. He finished his subspeciality training in joint replacement and adult reconstructive surgery at the Stanford University Medical Center in California, USA. He took his residency training in orthopedic surgery at the Philippine Orthopedic Center and was awarded "Most Outstanding Orthopedic Resident" by the Philippine Board of Orthopedics and "Most Outstanding Surgical Resident" by the Philippine College of Surgeons. He graduated with honors (magna cum laude) from the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. He was a past chairman of the Philippine Board of Orthopedics and a past president of the Philippine Hip and Knee Society. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.
